Reproductive Biology Research
Developed by Masaru Okabe, Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of C57BL/6 fertilized eggs. C57BL/6 background (C57BL/6JJcl and C57BL/6NCrSlc mixed).
Developmental Biology Research
CAG promoter (CMV-IE enhancer, chicken beta-actin promoter, rabbit beta-globin genomic DNA), Jellyfish GFP cDNA
These transgenic mice carry an EGFP (enhanced green fluorescence protein) cDNA under the control of a chicken beta-actin promoter and cytomegalovirus enhancer. Both homozygous and hemizygous transgenic mice express GFP in all over the body. This strain is useful for detection of cell fate in transplantation and developmental studies. Homozygous transgenic females experienced show a high incidence of sudden death (about 30%), putatively due to dilated cardiomyopaty. Transgene integration site: 14D1.
